Daisie Sitlani is a stage director and pianist, and is currently the Assistant Director Fellow at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where she will assist on two of the School’s opera productions during the 2026–27 season. She is a graduate of Guildhall, where she completed her Artist Masters under Caroline Palmer and Laura Roberts, supported by The Yorkshire Ladies’ Council of Education and a private donor. She previously studied Music at Newcastle University, graduating with First Class Honours.

Sitlani is the Artistic Director and founder of Glass Light Opera, an emerging opera company focused on creating accessible work and providing professional opportunities for emerging artists. She will direct two full-scale operas with the company in 2027. Recent productions include La Cenerentola, which toured the UK in August 2026, and Così fan tutte at Network Theatre, London, in April 2026. She has also directed staged recitals and mini-opera programmes for private members’ clubs and formal events, including Mosimann’s Club, as well as In This House, a programme of opera scenes presented in London, Newcastle and Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

Alongside her own directing work, Sitlani has developed a growing body of experience as an assistant director. In summer 2026, she assisted Tom Deazley on British Youth Opera’s production of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress and Edwina Strobl on St Paul’s Opera’s production of La traviata. At Guildhall, she has assisted on opera productions and scenes alongside directors including John Ramster, Victoria Newlyn and Ashley Dean, and her current Assistant Director Fellowship continues this work across two further Guildhall opera productions this season.

As a freelance director, her recent credits include Le nozze di Figaro (2025), Little Women (2025), A Night at the Opera (2024), Sweeney Todd (2024) and To Daffodils (2023). Her work increasingly centres on opera and music theatre, with a particular interest in bringing established repertoire into immediate, theatrical and accessible contemporary contexts.

Alongside directing, Sitlani maintains a career as a pianist and répétiteur. She has recently worked under Jon Aspital and Simone Manfredini on Disney’s The Lion King in the West End, and has performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Windsor Castle, the National Gallery, Leighton House and 1901 Arts Club. She has worked with artists including Julius Drake, Iain Burnside, Graham Johnson, Eugene Asti and Gordon Back.

Sitlani was awarded second prize in the Jubilee Accompanists’ Competition, has accompanied finalists in international competitions, and has appeared at the LiedTheWay programme in Florence and the Villa Margarita Music Festival in Spain. She has also worked as pianist and assistant director at Cratoule Summer School and continues to perform regularly alongside her directing work.
